More funeral directors need to consider working with families to use “crowd-sourcing” or online fundraising to help pay for funeral costs.
GoFundMe recently reported that 13 percent of its campaigns created in 2017 funded funerals and that 17 percent of adults between 20 and 39 solicited or donated money online for funeral-related arrangements.
It’s a growing trend to use this method to pay for funerals and if your funeral home is not offering this or won’t offer this, you may want to reconsider that decision.
We partner with MemorialFundraising.com to set up funeral homes to offer crowd-sourcing in order to pay for funerals with the added feature of having all donations deposited with the funeral home, not the family.
